Jogger Seriously Injured in Tempe Truck Crash

city bus moving fast down streetTEMPE, AZ – A man was rushed to the hospital after he was struck by a suspected impaired driver while out jogging in Tempe yesterday.

According to 12 News, a speeding Ford Flex collided with a Valley Metro bus on Baseline Road near 48th Street at about 7:30 a.m.

The truck then veered to the right and hit a curb before rolling onto its side, skidding down the sidewalk, and striking the 70-year-old jogger.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Other drivers involved suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The driver of the Ford was arrested on charges of aggravated assault.

The identities of those involved are being withheld pending further investigation.
