PHOENIX, AZ - An infant was killed and several people were seriously injured on Saturday after a driver ran a red light in central Phoenix and caused a major collision, CBS 5 reports.
Police say the driver of a Ford pickup truck ran a red light at the intersection of 7th Street and Buckeye Road at about 9 p.m. and subsequently slammed into a GMC pickup that was heading west on Buckeye.
A 3-year-old child and a 6-month-old child were rushed to a nearby hospital in extremely critical condition. Unfortunately, the infant died there a short time later.
Two women and a man were also hospitalized in critical condition. Their identities have not been released to the public.
The driver of the Ford refused transport to the hospital.
Further investigations are ongoing.
