Suspect in Motorcycle Hit-and-Run Identified

Stock image of ambulance racing to scene of emergencySCOTTSDALE, AZ – A California man was taken into custody in connection with a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured an off-duty Gilbert police officer on Sunday.

According to CBS 5, 23-year-old Colton Sattler was driving the vehicle which struck Sgt. Tom Edgerton while he was riding his motorcycle on Loop 101.

Sattler initially fled the scene but was located a short time later. He was taken into custody under suspicion of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.

Edgerton was rushed to HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
