Suspect Take into Custody After Prescott Hit-and-Run

PRESCOTT, AZ – Officers in Prescott arrested the woman responsible for a suspected DUI hit-and-run collision after a pursuit on Highway 69 Sunday evening.

According to CBS 5, the chase began at about 4:30 p.m. when 36-year-old Ashley Chaplin struck a car near Prescott Lakes Parkway and then drove away.

Police encountered Chaplin in a nearby parking lot, apparently trying to strike the other vehicle a second time. They gave pursuit, and she fled west on Highway 69. The chase concluded when she pulled into a dead-end street and was taken into custody.

It is unclear if any injuries were sustained as a result of the incident at this time. Chaplin was arrested on charges of endangerment, DUI, hit-and-run, and flight from pursuing law enforcement.
