Grand Canyon Tour Bus Crash Kills One, More Injured

DOLAN SPRINGS, AZ – One person died and two others were critically injured after a tour bus overturned en route to the Grand Canyon on Friday afternoon, AZCentral reports.

The bus, which was traveling from Las Vegas, crashed on Diamond Bar Road just north of Dolan Springs at about 12:20 p.m.

Passengers told deputies with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when the bus rolled onto its side and slid down the roadway.

Of the 48 passengers on the bus, one was pronounced dead at the scene, two were hospitalized in critical condition, and the rest were all taken to nearby hospitals to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are working to determine the exact cause of the crash.
