Hit-and-Run Collision Kills Construction Worker

GILA RIVER, AZ- Police are searching for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run collision that killed a construction worker Wednesday night.
According to CBS 5, the incident occurred around at 9:30 p.m., as a road crew was sealing pavement cracks on State Route 347 near Casa Blanca Road.
Investigators say a small car fatally struck the worker and then drove away from the scene.
Details regarding the identity of the victim are being withheld pending further investigation. Anyone with information on the suspect has been urged to contact Gila River Police.
This is the second instance of a highway worker being killed by a motorist in Maricopa County this year.
