Firefighters in Littlefield responded to a vehicle fire late Saturday night, Aug. 29, and the blazes kept crews busy for hours, St. George News reported. Fire crews that responded to the call found a car fully engulfed in fire at Old Highway 91 and Scenic Boulevard. The blaze quickly spread to the brush growing alongside the road and kept spreading as firefighters battled the flames through the night.
The fire burned through over 18 acres before it was finally contained. While the fire did not spread to any structures, the potential for it to spread even farther and become a massive fire was a possibility.
