Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle DUI Crash on Loop 202

close-up image of a breathalyzer deviceSCOTTSDALE, AZ – A woman was killed and a man arrested following a suspected drunk driving crash along Loop 202 on Saturday.

According to 12 News, 38-year-old George Johnson took the Scottsdale Road exit too fast and lost control of his vehicle, causing it to jump the curb and slam into a steel traffic sign.

The passenger in Johnson’s vehicle, 38-year-old Tamirah Washington, suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to a local hospital where she later died.

Johnson was arrested for one count of manslaughter after displaying signs of impairment and failing a breathalyzer test.
