One Dead, Four Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash

Drive safely signYUMA, AZ – A three-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck in South County left one person dead and four others seriously injured on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a report by KYMA, Somerton-Cocopah Firefighters were called to the scene of a collision near Highway 95 and Avenue C around 3:30 p.m. They arrived to find a large box truck on top of a small sedan. A white sedan was found nearby in the center lane of the roadway.

The driver of the white sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The three occupants of the silver sedan were extricated and rushed to Yuma Regional Medical Center in serious condition.

The truck driver suffered moderate injuries in the crash. He was also hospitalized as a precaution.

Investigators are working to establish the cause of the crash at this time.
