One Dead, Two Hurt in Single-Vehicle Crash in Tucson
TUCSON, AZ – One person was killed, and two others were rushed to the hospital following a collision in Tucson last Friday morning.
According to the Arizona Daily Star, the single-vehicle crash took place at about 4:30 a.m. within the 4100 block of East Aviation Parkway, near South Alvernon Way.
Investigators say that a 1996 Acura was traveling east at a high rate of speed when its driver lost control of the vehicle, which struck a curb and overturned. All three occupants were thrown from the vehicle.
The Acura’s driver, 23-year-old Jose Guillermo Mendez-Orduno, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two passengers were rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital in serious condition.
