One Dead, Maybe More in Fiery Phoenix Car Crash

PHOENIX, AZ – Police and fire officials in north Phoenix were called to the scene of a fatal single-vehicle collision early Saturday morning, CBS 5 reports.

The incident took place at about 2:30 a.m. on March 6, when an unidentified driver crashed into a building near the intersection of 7th Avenue and Dunlap Avenue.

Investigators believe the driver was speeding when the vehicle struck the building and caught fire. Initial reports stated two people were killed in the crash. However, police said later that “at least one person,” had died. The victim has not been identified.

The cause of the crash is still unclear at this time.
