One Dead, One Seriously Injured After Scooter Accident

Stock image of a motorized scooterTUCSON, AZ – One person died and another was seriously injured when a motorized scooter collided with a pedestrian in southeast Tucson on Monday.

According to a report by KOLD, the scooter’s rider lost control of the vehicle near East Hermans Road and South Farmbelt Drive and struck an unidentified pedestrian who was standing in the roadway near the shoulder.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending the notification of his family.

Emergency responders transported the scooter rider to a nearby hospital in serious condition.
