One Dead, Teen Seriously Hurt After Rear-End Collision

GLENDALE, AZ – A multi-vehicle collision Saturday night killed one and hospitalized two others, including a 12-year-old girl.

According to CBS 5, the accident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. near the intersection of Union Hills Drive and 59th Avenue, where a car rear-ended a passenger vehicle with four people inside. A man in the rear driver’s side seat of the vehicle that was hit was pronounced dead at the scene. A 12-year-old girl was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and the driver was also hospitalized but is expected to survive.

A third passenger was uninjured.

Neither occupants in the other vehicle were injured as a result of the collision.

No further details are available at this time. Police have not said if speed or impairment played a factor in the incident.
