Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Vehicle in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AX – The Phoenix Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred north of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport early Thursday morning.

According to the Arizona Republic, the unidentified male pedestrian was struck around 1:40 a.m. while attempting to cross McDowell Road near its intersection with 36th Street.

Police say the victim was walking outside of the crosswalk when the accident occurred. The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Speed and impairment have been ruled out as factors in the crash at this time.
