PHOENIX, AZ - Police in Phoenix took a 17-year-old driver into custody early Sunday morning after he hit and killed a pedestrian near ASU Prep South Phoenix High School.
According to Fox 10 Phoenix, a Ford Crown Victoria hit a man as he was walking near the intersection of 12th Street and Broadway Road at around 10 a.m.
The pedestrian died and the driver was arrested on charges stemming from the collision. Investigators believe speed may have played a role in the crash but have not said whether the victim was in a designated crosswalk when he was hit.
Neither person’s identity has been made public at this time.
