Pedestrian Hit, Killed on SR 587 in Sun Lakes

SUN LAKES, AZ – Gila River Police are investigating a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian collision in Sun Lakes.

According to CBS 5, the incident happened around 2 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of State Road 587 and Hunt Highway. Police have not identified anyone involved.

Police say they are unsure why the pedestrian was walking along the highway at the time of the crash.

SR-587 was shut down between Hunt Highway and I-10 for several hours while the crash was under investigation. All lanes have since been reopened.
