Tucson Crosswalk Crash Kills One Pedestrian

TUCSON, AZ – A man was struck and killed by a vehicle on a busy south side street in Tucson Monday evening.

The accident occurred sometime before 9 p.m.when the 56-year-old man was attempting to cross the street near the intersection of Campbell Avenue and Irvington Road. According to KGUN 9 News, the man was walking outside of the designated crosswalk area.

Investigators are working to determine whether the pedestrian was impaired at the time of the crash. The driver stopped to render aid to the man and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

The identities of the individuals involved are being withheld pending notification of the deceased’s next of kin.
