Bicycle vs. Motorcycle Crash Proves Fatal

PHOENIX, AZ – A man was killed and a teenager was rushed to the hospital after a motorcycle collided with a bicycle at an intersection in northeast Phoenix on Saturday afternoon.

According to ABC 15, a 17-year-old motorcyclist was traveling north on Thomas Road at about 4:30 p.m. when he struck a bicyclist who was attempting to cross near 24th Street.

The bicyclist, a 59-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital in extremely critical condition.

The crash remained under investigation as of Saturday evening. It is unclear whether the crosswalk was activated at the time of the accident. Police say speed may have also been a factor.
