Motorcyclist Dies at Scene of Kolb Road Crash

TUCSON, AZ – Investigations are ongoing after a motorcyclist was killed in a traffic collision in East Tucson on Thursday afternoon.

According to KOLD, the incident happened at about 4 p.m. on March 18, in the southbound lanes of Broadway Boulevard at its intersection with Kolb Road.

James Bruce Minish, 64, was lying in the roadway when police arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told officers that Minish had been stopped in the middle lane of Kolb Rd. for a red light when a 2001 Toyota Tundra struck him from behind. That collision began a chain reaction that involved two more vehicles and resulted in additional minor injuries.

The driver of the Toyota has been identified as Kenneth Martin Deeter, 35. Police believe that Deeter was intoxicated at the time of the collision.

Further investigations are underway. We will update this blog if we learn more.
