Motorcyclist Killed After Collision With Pickup Truck

Stock image of a police line TUCSON, AZ – A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a pickup truck on Tucson’s east side late Sunday night.

According to KOLD, 57-year-old Derek Bruce Post crashed into the pickup at about 10:27 p.m., as the truck was making a left turn from Kolb Road to Kenyon Drive.

Despite life-saving measures taken by Tucson firefighters, Post was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup was unhurt.

Investigators say the cause of the crash was a combination of failure to yield by the pickup and excessive speed by the motorcyclist. It is unclear if any charges will be filed at this time.
