Two Dead, One Airlifted to Hospital After Crash

MARICOPA, AZ – Two people died and a third was hospitalized following a vehicle collision west of Maricopa on Saturday afternoon, CBS 5 reports.

The two-vehicle crash took place at about 1:45 p.m. on West Maricopa Road/SR-238 near the intersection with 99th Avenue.

Fire crews from both Maricopa and Goodyear responded to the incident. Firefighters had to cut one person out of their vehicle. That person was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Two other people were pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances leading up to the crash remain unclear as of Monday morning.
