TUCSON, AZ - According to Tucson Police, the victim who was seriously injured in an east Tucson hit-and-run last week has died.
The incident occurred on June 11th at about 6 p.m. near the intersection of Craycroft Road and 22nd Avenue.
Investigators say that a Chevrolet Camaro driven by 25-year-old Michael Damon Perkins collided with a Hyundai Elantra, causing both vehicles to skid out of control. The Camaro crossed several lanes of traffic before slamming into the back of a trailer.
Perkins was apparently taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.
The driver in the Hyundai fled the scene before authorities arrived. No further details regarding that person’s identity are available at this time.
