One Dead in SE Gilbert Head-On Collision

GILBERT, AZ – An investigation is underway into a multi-vehicle collision that took the life of a woman in Gilbert late Saturday night.

According to CBS 5, the head-on crash occurred at about 11 p.m. near the intersection of Greenfield Road and Pecos Road. A pickup truck suddenly drifted into the oncoming lane and struck a four-door sedan head-on.

The 40-year-old female driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. The 39-year-old woman responsible for the crash was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. It is unclear whether she will face any charges.
