FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ – A bicyclist was struck and killed early Tuesday morning while riding near McDowell Mountain Regional Park, CBS 5 reports.
The unidentified cyclist was hit sometime between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of McDowell Mountain Road and Fountain Hills Road. The impact caused the cyclist to suffer fatal injuries.
A witness to the fatal crash told police they saw two men get out to assess the damages to their vehicle before speeding away from the scene. Police believe the vehicle involved is an older model white pickup truck with damage to the front right side.
