Fatal East Tucson Crash Update – DUI Suspected

ambulance-img-fatal-dui-crash-east-tucsonTUCSON, AZ – Police now believe a drunk driver was responsible for a fatal multi-vehicle collisionthat happenedin east Tucson yesterday.

TheArizona Daily Starreported that at 10:40 a.m., the driver of a 2006 Cadillac CTS failed to stop at the red light at South Pantano Parkway and Golf Links Road and slammed into a 2020 Nissan Rogue.

The Nissan’s driver, 31-year-old Angelica Caniceros, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Cadillac, an unidentified man in his 40s, was hospitalized with unknown injuries. He was found to be intoxicated when the crash occurred. Charges are pending, following his release from the hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
