Wednesday Evening Crash Likely Due to Impaired Driving

out of focus speedometerCHANDLER, AZ – One man was killed, and a woman was rushed to the hospital following a suspected DUI crash in Chandler on Wednesday evening.

According to a report by CBS 5, the incident happened at about 6:30 p.m., when a northbound vehicle on Gilbert Road veered into a traffic pole near Chandler Heights Road. The vehicle then continued north and subsequently crashed into a white minivan.

A passenger in the first vehicle, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a woman in her 20s, suffered unknown injuries. No one in the van was hurt.

Investigators believe both speed and impairment played a role in the fatal crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
