Driver Dies After Fleeing Crash on Foot Along U.S. 60

TEMPE, AZ – Investigators with the Arizona Department of Public Safety are looking into an incident in which a man died while attempting to flee the scene of a single-vehicle crash Wednesday night.

According to ABC 15 Arizona, the incident happened at around 11:40 p.m. on U.S. 60, near the exit to Priest Drive.

Officials say a man crashed his vehicle while traveling westbound on the freeway and immediately fled on foot into the eastbound lanes, where he was struck by an oncoming car.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The other driver involved was uninjured and is cooperating with police. Their identity has not yet been released.
