Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Hit by DUI Driver

PHOENIX, AZ – A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being struck by a suspected drunk driver north of downtown Phoenix last Friday night.

According to Fox 10 Phoenix, the unidentified pedestrian was struck near the intersection of 28th Drive and Peoria Avenue, close to the now-shuttered Metrocenter Mall.

Police believe the pedestrian was attempting to cross outside of the designated crosswalk when the individual was hit. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver involved remained at the scene and was cited for DUI.
