Driver Who Fled After Striking Two Pedestrians Arrested

According to the Phoenix Police Department, a teen driver faces a felony charge after allegedly striking two pedestrians and then fleeing the scene early Monday morning, Aug. 24. As reported in the Arizona Family News, the accident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. near 27th Avenue and Camelback Road.

The pedestrians, both males, sustained injuries that are serious but not life-threatening, according to the Phoenix Fire Department. Police found the driver who struck the men, a 17-year-old male, about a mile north of the scene of the accident. He was booked into the Juvenile Correction Center on suspicion ofleaving the scene of a serious injury crash. The investigation is ongoing.
