Pedestrian Killed, Driver Arrested After Phoenix Crash

Stock image of pedestrian crosswalk signPHOENIX, AZ – One man is dead after a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision in Phoenix Saturday. The driver involved has been arrested.

According to a report by ABC 15, 56-year-old Alberto Urbina was attempting to cross 43rd Avenue at Butler Drive when he was struck by a vehicle traveling north at a high rate of speed.

Urbina was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was inside the designated crosswalk when the crash took place.

Police believe speed and impairment played a role in the collision. The driver, 21-year-old Sebastian Garcia-Castillo, remained at the scene and has been charged with manslaughter.
