close-up view back of ambulanceWICKENBURG, AZ – A stretch of US-93 was closed in both directions following a fatal crash early Friday morning, ABC 15 reports.

The incident took place at about 5:30 a.m. near milepost 178, just northwest of Wickenburg.

One person suffered fatal injuries in the multi-vehicle collision. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending further investigation.

The events leading up to the crash are not yet known. Commuters were advised to avoid the area while crews worked to clear the scene.
