TUCSON, AZ – A cyclist was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a car on the Catalina Highway late Thursday afternoon.

According to KGUN 9, the accident occurred at about 4 p.m. near milepost 4. Officials have not released further details at this time.

Lanes along the Catalina Highway were partially blocked while authorities investigated the scene and cleared away the wreckage. The incident also resulted in increased rush hour delays for commuters driving up to Mt. Lemmon.

The condition of the cyclist has not been made available.
