MARICOPA, AZ – Two construction workers were injured in an explosion in Maricopa Tuesday morning, Sept. 1. Fire and medical crews were dispatched to the accident near Smith Enke Road and Porter Road at approximately 8 a.m.
According to officials, the victims were injured and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. It’s currently unclear what caused the job site explosion. Emergency crews are investigating to determine if the accident scene is still hazardous.
