Crash in Walmart Parking Lot Leaves One Dead, Several Hurt

GLENDALE, AZ – A young girl was killed and several of her family members were injured after they were hit by a vehicle in a Walmart parking lot Wednesday morning, reports KOLD News 13.

Police say the incident happened at about 10:30 a.m., as the family was walking into the store, located near the intersection of 56th Avenue and Northern Avenue.

A 68-year-old woman in a black Nissan backed out of a parking space, then attempted to pull back into the space when she struck another vehicle, ran up onto the sidewalk, and hit the family.

The 4-year-old child became pinned under a truck, while the Nissan went on to strike two additional vehicles before finally coming to a stop.

Sadly, the child died as a result of the crash. Her brother and mother were taken to a nearby hospital, while her grandmother was treated at the scene.

The woman responsible for the crash stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police. It is unclear if she will face any charges at this time.
