Collision in Northeast Phoenix Leaves One Dead, Four Hurt

According to ABC 15, five people, including three children, were hospitalized after being struck by a car while they walked on the sidewalk near 43rd Avenue and Indian School Road.

One of the children, an 11-year-old girl, succumbed to her injuries at a nearby hospital. Both adult pedestrians”“ the girl’s mother and an 18-year-old cousin ”“were sent to trauma centers for their injuries. A 9-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy also sustained serious injuries.

The events leading up to the crash remain unclear. However, police believe the driver responsible was impaired at the time.
