MARICOPA, AZ - Police say a 7-year-old child was hospitalized after being thrown from the vehicle involved in a Maricopa rollover collision on Monday evening.
According to 12 News, the incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m., when the driver of a white Nissan car lost control of the vehicle on SR-347 just south of Riggs Road.
The Nissan rolled over and then crashed through a nearby fence, ejecting a 7-year-old passenger. Both the child and the female driver of the vehicle were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Authorities say that the woman had been driving recklessly prior to the collision. They have not determined whether impairment was a factor.
