According to the Arizona Republic, the fire broke out sometime before 3:40 p.m. at a home near the intersection of Central Avenue and Indian School Road.
After putting out the flames, firefighters discovered a man trapped inside. They were able to extricate him from the structure, and he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital to be treated for serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.
No firefighters were injured in the blaze. The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.
