Three Injured by Swarm of Bees at Phoenix Hotel

PHOENIX, AZ – Three people were injured, one critically, when they were attacked by a swarm of bees at a hotel in east Phoenix yesterday.

The Phoenix Fire Department arrived at the Quality Inn located at 47th Street and Thomas Road to find that three people had been stung several times by the bees. Two of the victims received minor injuries, while the third was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Fire officials say they do not know why the bees became aggressive. However, a beekeeper has been dispatched to the hotel to investigate.

A different beekeper told AZ Family that bee attacks are at their most frequent in the spring, as they’re often on the move and establishing new hives during the season.
