Impairment Suspected in Serious Wrong-Way Collision

QUEEN CREEK, AZ – A man from Ahwatukee was rushed to the hospital following a wrong-way collision caused by a suspected drunk driver last Wednesday night.

According to Fox 10 Phoenix, the collision occurred at about 9 p.m. near the intersection of Hunt Highway and Stacey Road.

57-year-old Scottie Selke was struck by a female driver who investigators believe had been drinking prior to the crash. Selke was transported to Chandler Regional Hospital, where he remains in critical condition as of Wednesday evening.

Family members say Selke could need more than 20 surgeries as a result of the crash.

The woman responsible for the crash also remains in the hospital with unknown injuries.
