- 8-Year-Old Accidentally Run Over by Grandmother
An 8-year-old boy from Prescott, Arizona is in serious condition after being struck by his grandmothers vehicle just outside of her home. The boy had been swimming at his grandmothers pool that afternoon when he went to warm up on the sidewalk near the driveway.
The boys grandmother was leaving her home in her small two-door vehicle when she struck him while backing out of the driveway. According to authorities he was stuck between the hitch of the car and the concrete driveway. When his grandmother heard something she pulled the car forward and found the injured boy.
Police said he was rushed to a local area hospital and then airlifted to Phoenix Childrens Hospital where he was diagnosed with a serious head injury. The incident is being investigated as a normal accident and there was no indication that the grandmother was impaired.
Approximately 8 percent of all Arizona traffic incidents occur at 3:00p.m. which is the same time the young boy was hit. Approximately 67 children between the ages of 5 and 9 were injured in pedestrian collisions in 2011 according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
If you or a loved one have been injured in a pedestrian accident, the victim may be entitled to compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and more. Two family members were in a bad wreck a couple of years ago, and as a result called Phillips Law to represent them. Montana Thompson was the attorney assigned to the case with the help of Nemo Farr as legal assistant. Mr. Thompson litigated a very generous settlement for both my stepdaughter and her son. Because my grandson is a minor, I decided to act as conservator for him to ensure the settlement was safe and secure. Montana helped with that process, but it was Nemo who went way above and beyond the call in finding a financial institution to use for the restricted account. There were some glitches in that process but Nemo helped navigate them with a calm expertise which belies his age. I would consider them both great representatives of the level of commitment to their clients and assets to their firm.

Kathy Hudson and Donato Giovanatto. Continues to go above and beyond the call of duty. Reaching out to the insurance company about the damage to the vehicle. Forcing them to take responsibility.
