Thaddeus R. Garlick is an attorney in the workers’ compensation division at Phillips Law Group. He was born in Seoul, Korea, and grew-up in Orem, Utah. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University where he studied Business Management. After graduating, Thad worked as a project manager for a patent translation company before attending law school.
Thad studied law at the University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law. While in law school, Thad was selected as a member of the Utah Environmental Law Review and served as an Article Editor. He also participated in the law school’s Traynor Moot Court Competition and was later selected as a member of the University of Utah’s National Environmental Law Moot Court Team. Thad graduated with his Juris Doctorate and Graduate Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resource Law in 2012.
Shortly after his graduation from law school, Thad commenced his legal career as the law clerk for the Honorable Douglas E. Smith in the Eighth Judicial District for the State of Nevada. Following his clerkship, Thad has worked as an insurance defense attorney for various insurance companies and businesses. He also has experience in personal injury law. Thad is admitted to practice in Arizona and Utah.
Thad’s desire to make a lasting difference in his clients’ lives and the community led him to the Philips Law Group. He now uses his past defense experience for the good of his clients as he vigorously advocates for them at all stages of representation.
In his time away from the office, Thad enjoys fishing, hiking, and spending time with his wife and three children.
