Police Seeking Hit & Run Driver

The Glendale Police Department is seeking the driver involved in a hit-and-run accident that left one boy injured. On Tuesday, July 30th a 12-year-old boy was riding his bicycle just before 7 p.m. near 45th Avenue and Mountain View Road when he was struck by a driver who fled the scene.

Neighbors called 911 immediately and the young man was transported to a local area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

After some investigation police believe that the car involved was a 2006 Buick Lacrosse sedan that was being driven by a white male.

The Arizona Department of Transportation notes that in 2011 more than 11,000 hit-and-run accidents were reported. Such accidents caused more than 2,200 injuries and 49 deaths.
