Kurt D. Maahs
Kurt D. Maahs is a personal injury attorney at Phillips Law Group.
He is licensed to practice in the federal and state courts in Arizona, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa. He has been litigating cases for over 18 years.
Mr. Maahs has tried, arbitrated, and mediated hundreds of cases throughout his career, including cases involving multi-million dollar compensation for significant injuries, such as traumatic brain injury, paraplegia, and burns.
Throughout his career, Mr. Maahs has represented consumers and numerous Fortune 500 companies, including Walgreens, United Technologies, Nationwide, State Farm, Chubb Insurance, Auto-Owners, Hartford, AIG, Johnson & Johnson, Marriott, Phillip Morris, Home Depot and DaVita.
Mr. Maahs uses his vast experience to pursue and protect the rights of consumers. He knows the importance of helping individual clients obtain justice from the wrongdoings of insurance companies and corporations.
In addition to his prior legal experience, Mr. Maahs worked on his family's farm, at a lumber company, and as a construction worker.
Mr. Maahs has also suffered significant personal injuries (from which he was fortunate enough to fully recover) while working as a construction worker. This experience gave him an understanding of the daily hardships and painful struggles of those who are suffering from a personal injury.
Mr. Maahs graduated from the University of Nebraska Law School in 1994, where he was a member of the school's trial advocacy team and served as a student court justice.
He is also active with the Sandra Day O'Connor Inn of Court, the Arizona Association for Justice, and the Arizona Bar Association, where he serves on the Peer Review Committee.
In his spare time, Mr. Maahs spends time with his family, usually running between his children's school and sports activities. He also enjoys hiking, running, reading, and following the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
