Mr. Sorenson received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Arizona State University in 1996. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1999. He was admitted to the State Bar of Arizona that same year and has been practicing law exclusively in both state and federal court in Arizona ever since.  

Mr. Sorenson is a fourth-generation Arizona Native. In fact, someone from Mr. Sorenson’s family has been practicing law in the State of Arizona since 1929. Mr. Sorenson began his over 17-year legal career as a law clerk and then as an associate with the Sorenson Moore Evens Marshall & Rocco law firm, which at the time was one of the leading insurance defense firms in the State of Arizona. When the firm disbanded Mr. Sorenson associated with the Rocco Law Firm where he continued to represent insurance companies in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury and wrongful death, products liability, premises liability, and commercial litigation. Mr. Sorenson left the Rocco Law Firm in order to acquire additional trial experience, which he did by becoming a Division Chief at the Gila County Attorney’s Office. Mr. Sorenson was responsible for the prosecution of all Felony Vehicular Crimes in Gila County.  Finally, Mr. Sorenson was in-house counsel for Nationwide Insurance Company for over 12 years. When Mr. Sorenson left Nationwide he was the designated trial attorney in the Arizona office specializing in personal injury and wrongful death litigation, products liability litigation, premises liability litigation, and fraud investigation.

On May 1, 2017 Mr. Sorenson joined the Phillips Law Group. Mr. Sorenson is uniquely qualified to handle all aspects of personal injury litigation based on his training and experience. More importantly, because of his intimate understanding of how insurance companies operate, he is ready and able to represent those individuals injured by another’s bad acts.
