Robert Arentz

In addition to his role as supervising attorney for Phillips and Associates in Phoenix, Arizona, Robert Arentz acts as lead criminal and DUI defense attorney for the firm. Mr. Arentz is a Board Certified Specialist in Criminal Law, certified by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization. His practice focuses on high profile and complex criminal cases, as well as felony criminal cases throughout Arizona and California. In a practice that has spanned more than 25 years, Robert Arentz has served as criminal defense attorney for numerous trials and appeals, including death penalty litigation.

In 1973, Robert Arentz graduated, with honors, from Michigan State University. From there, he attended Pepperdine University School of Law, graduating in 1978. He immediately moved into practice in the area of criminal law, serving as both a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney. In addition to being admitted to practice law in the state of Arizona, he has also earned admittance to practice in California, various federal courts, and before the United States Supreme Court.

In 1984, Robert Arentz helped to create a public defender's office for Cochise County, Arizona. He served as that office's director for over five years. Mr. Arentz has also chaired for a State Bar Disciplinary Hearing Committee.

Mark Benson

Mark BensonMark D. Benson is an attorney assigned to the Firm's Criminal Law Division. A graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law and Arizona State University, Mr. Benson is an aggressive attorney who has represented clients throughout Arizona. A veteran of the Pinal and Maricopa County Public Defender Offices, Mr. Benson possesses excellent legal research and litigation skills. Mr. Benson has more than 15 years of criminal defense experience handling cases from major felony charges in Superior Court to misdemeanor DUI matters.

William B. Blaser

William B. BlaserBill graduated from the University Of Arizona College Of Law in Tucson, Arizona earning his Juris Doctorate degree 1976. Mr. Blaser has been in practice in southern Arizona for more than 30 years. He has had a wide range of experience in the law, his focus and emphasis has always been trials and litigation. As such, he has developed a deep background of experience in personal injury cases and civil trials in general. Mr. Blaser is also certified as a Specialist in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Litigation by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization. Prior to graduating from the University of Arizona, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech University in History with interests in Physical Education, Classics, and English.

Bill started his practice in Cochise County as a deputy County Attorney working at the same time for both the civil and criminal divisions of that office. Thereafter, he went into private practice in Bisbee ultimately moving to Tucson to start his own firm. In 1995 he was asked by State Farm Insurance Companies to set up and start their Claims Litigation Office in Tucson where he was the Managing Attorney there for 10 years. Since 2005 he has been engaged as a consultant for Tucson lawyers advising and helping them with their trial and litigation files, and now is the Supervising Attorney for Phillips & Associates' Tucson office.

Bill is admitted to practice in the State of Arizona, the Federal Courts in Arizona, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and The United States Supreme Court. He has had trials in most of the counties in Arizona, in the Tucson Federal District Court, and oral arguments before Division 2 of the Arizona Court of Appeals in Tucson and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco.

Bill has been involved in a variety of personal injury cases from automobile cases involving minor injuries to dust storm cases with multiple deaths, premises cases to products liability cases.

Aaron Carrow

Aaron Carrow is originally from Jacksonville, Florida where he received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of North Florida and his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. Following admission to the State Bar of Florida, Mr. Carrow served as Assistant State Attorney for Sarasota County, where he handled criminal cases. As an Assistant State Attorney, he gained considerable trial experience.

Mr. Carrow is dedicated to public service, before practicing law he interned with U.S. Senator Bill Nelson. While in Florida he volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and since moving he has continued his public service as a volunteer for the Town of Fountain Hills. He is currently licensed in Arizona and Florida.

Cindy Castillo

Ms. Castillo is a trial attorney and a bilingual member of our criminal defense team. Ms. Castillo has dedicated her career to representing both the accused and underprivileged members of society. She has litigated a wide variety of criminal matters ranging from misdemeanors to complex felony cases; and has represented both juvenile and adult clients. Ms. Castillo has represented clients in Maricopa, Yavapai, and Mojave Counties. Ms. Castillo has received numerous trial victories for our firm, including driving under the influence of alcohol, assaults, both misdemeanor and felony, shoplifting, possession and sale of dangerous drugs and narcotics, drive by shooting, assisting a criminal syndicate, and vehicular manslaughter. Ms. Castillo has also prevailed on a number of evidentiary hearings involving violations of constitutional rights, which have resulted in dismissal of cases.

Ms. Castillo is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, and she is admitted to practice in the United States District Court of Arizona. Ms. Castillo is active in the Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association and the Sandra Day O’Connor Chapter of the American Inn of Court. Ms. Castillo also volunteers her time conducting mock interviews for the ASU law school.

Before joining Phillips & Associates, Ms. Castillo practiced in the areas of Social Security Disability and Workers’ Compensation law.

While in law school, Ms. Castillo served as the Chairperson on the ASU College of Law Executive Moot Court Board; practiced in both the Public Defender’s Clinic and Civil Practice Clinic; was selected to the Order of the Barristers; and graduated with a Pro Bono distinction. Ms. Castillo also held an externship position at the Arizona Attorney General’s Office where she represented the State in numerous child support proceedings.

Prior to going to law school, Ms. Castillo was the law office manager for a criminal defense firm in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She received her undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Ms. Castillo also received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force.

Rachel DaPena

Rachel DaPena is an associate of the firm's bankruptcy department. Ms. DaPena graduated with honors from California State University Fullerton, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. Prior to attending law school, she worked as a Counselor at a drug treatment furlough program for female prison inmates. She received her Juris Doctor from Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa, California. During law school, she was a member of the Entertainment and Sports Law Society, Women's Law Society, Federalist Society and was a competing member of and Vice President of Whittier's Trial Advocacy Honors Board. She clerked for the Orange County District Attorney's office and was integral to the implementation of several gang injunctions. In addition, she has experience in the practice areas of plaintiff's personal injury, insurance defense for construction defect and personal injury, general business civil litigation, and intellectual property. She currently limits her practice to consumer bankruptcy. She is licensed in all of the state courts of California and Arizona, the District Court of Arizona, and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

“Trey” A.R. Dayes III

“Trey” A.R. Dayes is a trial attorney in the Personal Injury and Wrongful Death division of the Firm. Mr. Dayes has litigated cases involving catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and various commercial issues. He has represented the City of Phoenix, 21st Century, Western Agricultural Insurance, and AIG Insurance Companies, National Propane Company, and CRST Trucking, as well as many individual clients.

Mr. Dayes received his Juris Doctor from the Brigham Young University J. Rueben Clark Law School in 1996, where he was chosen to be an Editor and Note and Comment Editor for the BYU Journal of Public Law. He also authored "Drafting a Limited Liability Clause that will Pass the Scrutiny of Utah Courts." He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah. Trey has attended the AAJ Advanced Medical Trial Skills College. Mr. Dayes is licensed to practice law in Arizona and Utah.

While in Utah he represented several municipalities including the cities of Lindon, Pleasant Glove, and American Fork. He also represented several corporate clients including Utah Community Credit Union and the Bank of American Fork.

In his spare time, Trey values his time as a boy-scout leader, and playing sports, such as soccer and baseball. He enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Andrew M. Dudley

Andrew M. Dudley is a graduate of Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Dudley graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan. Mr. Dudley's legal background includes all aspects of administering Chapter 13 Bankruptcy cases from the filing of the petition though confirmation. Most recently, Mr. Dudley was the Assistant Staff Attorney for the Standing Chapter 13 Trustee, Edward J. Maney.

Mr. Dudley limits his practice to Chapter 13 Bankruptcy cases. He has developed policies and procedures for the case administration under the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act, which were amendments to the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. Mr. Dudley recently argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in Maney v. Kagenveama.

Mr. Dudley is an avid hockey fan. He has played ice hockey for over 30 years and has coached youth hockey in the valley since 1998. He is admitted to practice law in Michigan and Arizona.

Elizabeth Liz Dudley

Ms. Dudley is a former Registered Nurse and an attorney; specializing in women’s issues with a focus on pharmaceutical and medical device litigation. Ms. Dudley has joined the Phillips National Injury Group’s Mass Tort Department.

Ms. Dudley earned her license to practice law in Kansas and was responsible for litigating and managing pharmaceutical mass tort and medical device cases. She has successfully settled thousands of cases which earned her firm and her clients several millions of dollars in fees and settlements.

Ms. Dudley, after practicing as a nurse in surgery, obstetrics, intensive care and as a Director of Nursing, became a nurse consultant, then an attorney in Wichita, Kansas. Ms. Dudley set up efficient programs for processing large volumes of pharmaceutical and device cases. This process allowed her to perform more efficient and cost-effective medical/legal case analysis.

Ms. Dudley has been appointed to various national mass tort and multi-district litigation committees including Silicone Breast Implants, Fen-Phen, Vioxx, Bextra/Celebrex and Yaz/Yasmin. Most recently she earned a nomination for a place on the Proposed Plaintiff’s Steering Committee for the Yaz/Yasmin multi-district litigation. She was recently appointed by the Yaz/Yasmin Plaintiffs Steering Committee to their Science committee.

Ms. Dudley’s responsibilities include:

Lowell W. Finson

Lowell W. Finson is a trial attorney who handles serious personal injury, product liability, mass tort and medical malpractice cases. Mr. Finson a cum laude graduate of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, in Cleveland, Ohio in 1974. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Finson graduated with honors from Miami University in 1971 from Oxford, Ohio, with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. His primary area of practice is civil litigation, focusing on serious injuries arising out of defective drugs. Mr. Finson has been licensed to practice in Arizona since 1986 and in Ohio since 1974, and is admitted in all State and Federal Courts in Arizona and Ohio. In 2007, after over 33 years of practice, Mr. Finson recently passed the California State Bar Exam, considered to be one of the most difficult in the nation. He has tried over 100 jury trials in both State and Federal Courts. Additionally, Mr. Finson has argued in the Courts Of Appeals in Ohio, Arizona and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Finson was a Board Certified Specialist in Workers Compensation, certified by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization from 1998-2004. He has handled hundreds cases before the Industrial Commissions of Arizona and Ohio.

Mr. Finson was a member of the Board of Directors of the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association from 2003 – 2006. He has been a member of the American Association of Justice for most of his legal career, and is currently a member of the Avandia, Yasmin and Shoulder Pain Pump Litigation Sections. Mr. Finson is a Red Cross Volunteer, and on a panel of attorneys who rendered legal advice to victims of Hurricane Katrina that were evacuated and relocated to Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona. Mr. Finson is also a member of the ACLU Arizona Attorneys Panel, which screens legal cases for consideration for litigation regarding victims of civil rights violations.

Currently, Mr. Finson is the Supervisor of the Mass Tort Division of the firm, and is responsible for cases involving many drugs and medical devices. Since 2005, he has put together a large staff of attorneys, medical legal specialists, paralegals and support staff which maintains over 1500 actively filed cases, and is recognized as a leader in pharmaceutical medical legal science in the nation. He practices in State and Federal Courts in Arizona, California, Florida, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, New York, and Louisiana. His case load involves drugs such as Avandia, Fosamax, Yasmin, Vioxx, Bextra, Celebrex, Digitek, Zyprexa, Seroquel, Byetta, Zelnorm, Heparin, Ortho Evra, Actonel, Trasylol, Gadolinium, Gardasil, and Zometa. He also has national products liability cases in transvaginal mesh, Yamaha Rhino, and heart related device litigations. He is in leadership positions in several national litigation projects. He is on the Science and Discovery Committees in the Avandia Multidistrict Litigation centered in Philadelphia, and on the Executive Committee of the Avandia Coordinated Proceeding in California. He is also in a leadership role in the Yasmin National Litigation, and as such, will be a member of the Science and Discovery Committees of the soon to be formed Coordinated Proceedings in Pennsylvania, California, and Multidistrict National litigation. He has been asked to speak at various seminars across the nation, and most recently was invited to speak on a national webinar on the subject of Yasmin.

Rachel Flinn

Rachel Flinn is an associate in the firm's bankruptcy department. Rachel graduated with honors from Northern Illinois University in December of 2004 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. After her graduation, she attended Northern Illinois University College of Law. During her tenure at Northern Illinois University College of Law, she was named to the College of Law Dean's List. She was also a member of the Public Interest Law Society and the Women's Law Caucus. As a member of these organizations, she raised funds for the local women's shelter and helped build a home with Habitat for Humanity. In her final year of law school, Rachel clerked at a law firm in downtown Chicago that specialized in workers' compensation litigation. Following her law school graduation, Rachel moved from Illinois to Arizona in order to be closer to her family. In May of 2009, Rachel was admitted to the Arizona State Bar. She is also licensed to practice in the United States District Court, District of Arizona.

Matthew T. Foley

Matthew T. Foley is a 2004 graduate of the Arizona State University, College of Law, where he received his Doctorate in Jurisprudence. Simultaneously, he graduated from W.P. Carey at Arizona State University with a Master of Business Administration. Prior to attending Arizona State University, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Ecological Biology from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.

Mr. Foley previously was employed as General Counsel to the Arizona State Savings & Credit Union, where he was a compliance officer. Mr. Foley reviewed and negotiated contracts for mortgages and consumer liens for the Credit Union.

Prior to that, Mr. Foley worked at the Office of the Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Division, where he represented the Arizona Department of Real Estate, Banking, and Insurance. Mr. Foley now limits his practice to Chapter 13 consumer Bankruptcy cases.

Mr. Foley is an avid snake hunter and collector. He currently has a 40 snake collection. Mr. Foley loves the Arizona desert and all its reptilian bounty.

Christina Harney

Christina Harney is a graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Harney graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Arizona State University. During law school, Ms. Harney was an associate editor of the Gonzaga Law Review. She also worked for two years at the Washington Attorney General's Office doing legal work for Child Protective Services.

Prior to joining Phillips and Associates, Ms. Harney worked in the Clerk's Office of the United States District Court, District of Arizona. Ms. Harney currently limits her practice to Chapter 7 Bankruptcy cases.

Alan R. Hock

Alan R. Hock is one of our criminal defense attorneys in Phoenix. A trial attorney, he is originally from Tucson, Arizona and his family has lived in Arizona since the 1880's. Mr. Hock graduated from the University of Arizona in 1976 with a Degree in Political Science. After graduation, Mr. Hock made his home in Roanoke, Virginia where he was employed for several years as a stockbroker.

Upon returning to Arizona, Mr. Hock graduated from Arizona State University College of Law. Following admission to the State Bar of Arizona, Mr. Hock served as Assistant City Prosecutor for the City of Phoenix, where he handled only criminal and D.U.I. cases. As an assistant city attorney, Mr. Hock obtained considerable trial experience. Mr. Hock has now limited his practice to D.U.I. and criminal defense cases.

Mr. Hock has recently been certified as a Criminal Law Specialist in the State of Arizona by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization.

Mr. Hock was a Flight Commander, Squadron Administration Officer and Pilot in the United States Air Force (Reserve). He is currently involved with the Aircraft Owner and Pilot Association.

Barry Handler

Barry HandlerMr. Handler has dedicated his career to the defense of the accused. He has over twenty years of experience in Criminal Law. Mr. Handler has been a Board Certified Specialist in Criminal Law since 1998 and is also death-penalty qualified.

Mr. Handler has won not guilty verdicts for clients charged with First Degree Murder, Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, Sexual Assault, Armed Robbery, Burglary, Theft, Criminal Damage, Drug Possession and Aggravated DUI, just to name a few. His efforts have also led directly to the dismissal of numerous serious felony cases.

Mr. Handler began his career with the City of Phoenix Prose-cutor’s Office in 1988. From there, he was a Deputy Public Defender for Maricopa County from 1990-1997. He has been in private practice in Phoenix since 1997.

Mr. Handler currently is or has been a member of the NACDL (National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers), AACJ (Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice) and the ABA (American Bar Association). He has also served as a legal analyst for KFYI radio in Phoenix.

Mr. Handler was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1961. After moving to Phoenix in 1975, he graduated from Central High School in 1979. Mr. Handler attended the University of Michigan and the University of Colorado before obtaining his law degree from the University of Arizona in 1987.

Thomas J. Howard

Thomas J. HowardThomas J. Howard is an attorney in the Personal Injury Department. A 1983 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law, Mr. Howard has been a trial attorney for over 25 years in the fields of Personal Injury and Insurance Coverage. Mr. Howard has settled more than a million dollars worth of accident and injury cases. He has also handled medical malpractice and products liability claims.

Mr. Howard has tried over 60 personal injury cases in the Courts of Arizona. He has also handled personal injury cases in various Tribal Courts. He brings a diverse perspective to the firm having spent his first 20 years representing insurance interests, which provides a unique insight into handling Personal Injury cases.

Mr. Howard has been a member of the State Bar of Arizona and U.S. District Court, District of AZ since 1983. He is a member of the Arizona Trial Lawyers Assoc., an organization devoted solely to representing victims of another’s negligent conduct. In 2002 Mr. Howard was honored with the distinction of election to The American Board of Trial Advocates and awarded the second highest rank of Advocate.

Allen F. Jacobs

Allen F. Jacobs is a criminal defense attorney in Phoenix. He is originally from Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Jacobs graduated from Drake University in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science. He then continued his studies at the University of Illinois, College of Law, where he graduated in 1968 with his Juris Doctorate in law.

Prior to moving to Phoenix with his family, Mr. Jacobs was a sole practitioner in the Chicago area from 1973 to 1997. He practiced both civil and criminal law. Shortly after his admittance to the State Bar of Arizona and U.S. District Court, District of Arizona in 1997, Mr. Jacobs joined Phillips & Associates. Mr. Jacobs has now limited his practice to D.U.I. and criminal defense cases.

RuthAnn James

RuthAnn James was born and raised in New Jersey. She received her undergraduate degree in Literature and Communications from Pace University, Pleasantville, NY. She earned her Juris Doctorate at Pace University School of Law, White Plains, NY.

RuthAnn moved to the Phoenix area in 1993 and was admitted to the State Bar of Arizona the same year. In 1994 she joined the law firm of Goldberg & Osborne where she practiced plaintiff's personal injury, wrongful death and negligence law. RuthAnn remained with Goldberg & Osborne as Managing Attorney until 2006. RuthAnn eventually opened her own practice and where she continued to represent plaintiffs in actions involving personal injury, wrongful death and general civil litigation.

On June 1, 2009 RuthAnn joined the firm of Phillips & Associates where she continues to pursue justice for victims hurt as a result of another's negligence.

RuthAnn is admitted to practice before the Arizona Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court in Arizona. She is a member of the Arizona State Bar, Maricopa County Bar Association and Arizona Trial Lawyers Association.

Kate Loudenslagel

Kate Loudenslagel is an attorney in the bankruptcy division of Phillips and Associates. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, Ms. Loudenslagel is a graduate of Washington and Lee University School of Law and the University of Dallas where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree, cum laude, in Politics. Ms. Loudenslagel enjoyed participating in moot court during both her undergraduate and law school careers. While at the University of Dallas, she was awarded the Texas Undergraduate Moot Court Association State Tournament Best Orator Award. Ms. Loudenslagel was also picked to represent her school at the American Bar Association Constitutional Law Regional Appellate Advocacy Competition. She then participated in Washington and Lee University School of Law's John W. Davis Appellate Advocacy Competition as a Finalist in 2008 and a Semifinalist in 2007.

Ms. Loudenslagel was admitted to the Arizona State Bar in December 2009.

Larry Magid

Larry Magid is a trial attorney and a member of our team of criminal defense attorneys in our Phoenix office. Mr. Magid was recognized as a Certified Criminal Trial Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court in 1982 and has practiced criminal law both as a prosecutor and defense attorney. Mr. Magid has more than thirty years experience in criminal law. He is a graduate of West Virginia University and Seton Hall School of Law. He was admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey in 1969. He is also admitted to practice in various Federal Courts.

Mr. Magid is a member of the Arizona State Bar and has limited his practice exclusively to criminal defense and D.U.I. cases. David R. Mika

David R. Mika is a trial attorney and a member of our team of criminal defense attorneys in our Phoenix firm. He has handled numerous felony and misdemeanor criminal defense and D.U.I. cases in his twenty years of practice. He is originally from Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Roosevelt University in 1977 with a degree in Business Administration. He then attended John Marshall Law School in Chicago and received his degree to practice law in 1980. Mr. Mika was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1980 and to the Arizona bar in 1983.

After relocating to Arizona in 1981, his main practice area was originally civil litigation including personal injury and insurance coverage matters. Since 1992, Attorney Mika has limited his practice to the area of criminal defense and D.U.I. defense and has represented numerous Arizona clients in criminal and D.U.I. jury trials.

Jackson D. Moll

Jackson D. Moll is an attorney in the bankruptcy division of Phillips and Associates. Prior to joining Phillips and Associates, Mr. Moll served as a law clerk with the Goldwater Institute's Scharf-Norton Center for Constitutional Litigation where he worked to defend private property rights, enforce constitutional government, and protect school choice.

Mr. Moll graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA in 2002. After graduation, Mr. Moll worked as a financial advisor with AXA Advisors in Tucson, AZ. While at AXA Advisors, Mr. Moll primarily advised public school employees on their retirement benefits and other aspects of their financial plan.

Mr. Moll received his law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law in 2008 and was admitted to practice law in Arizona in November of that year.

Jose A. Montaño

Jose A. Montaño is a trial attorney in the criminal law division of the firm. Mr. Montaño is originally from our sister city, Hermosillo, Sonora, México. Mr. Montaño is a graduate of Arizona State University with honors and Arizona State University College of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, admitted to practice in the United States Federal Court of Arizona and also in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Montaño has tried numerous felony and misdemeanor cases as both prosecutor and criminal defense attorney. Mr. Montaño has a broad background in Business, Real Estate, Immigration and Criminal law. After joining our firm, Mr. Montaño has limited his practice exclusively to criminal defense and D.U.I. cases.

Mr. Montaño is currently a member of Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association and numerous other community service organizations.

Lewis B. Moore, III

Lewis B. More, IIILewis Moore is an attorney in the firm’s Personal Injury Division. A veteran trial attorney, Mr. Moore is a graduate of University of Arkansas School of Law and the University of Arizona where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and Economics. Mr. Moore has handled plaintiff and defense claims arising from personal injury, casualty, products liability, and professional liability matters to name a few. He has tried more than a dozen civil jury cases and hundreds of arbitrations in his 18-year career. Mr. Moore is admitted to practice law in Arizona and Arkansas.

Andrew S. Nemeth

Mr. Andrew Nemeth is a bankruptcy attorney in our firm. He began working with bankruptcy attorneys as a legal extern in the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of California. He has practiced mainly consumer bankruptcy law since 1992. Attorney Nemeth has practiced in New Jersey and Pennsylvania (1992-1994), and Arizona (1994 to present). Mr. Nemeth's main area of focus within consumer bankruptcy law is Chapter 13 personal and small business reorganization.

Mr. Nemeth is originally from Rockland County, New York. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Following his undergraduate education, Mr. Nemeth became certified as a (computer) Systems Engineer and spent four years in the computer services industry. Mr. Nemeth returned to law school where he received his Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law.

Attorney Nemeth is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, as well as the Maricopa County Bar Association and is a past Chairman of the State Bar of Arizona Bankruptcy Section's Consumer Bankruptcy Law Committee.

Neil Poston

A native of Chicago Illinois, Neil Poston is a Bankruptcy Attorney in our Chapter 7 Department. Neil received his Law Degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale School of Law in 2009. Prior to law school he was an Aircraft Maintenance Officer and Project Manager in the US Air Force, and was stationed at air bases in Kansas, Florida, and New Mexico. He left the US Air Force after six years, holding the rank of Captain. During law school he interned at a private Bankruptcy Law practice as well as a Domestic Violence Law Legal Clinic.

In addition to his J.D. from SIUC, he holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Webster University in St. Louis, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in International Politics from Northern Illinois University. In his leisure time, he enjoys trapshooting, civil aviation, skydiving, and scuba diving.

Neil has been admitted to the State Bar of Arizona and the US District Court.

R. Glenn Phillips

R. Glenn Phillips has been trying cases for more than 20 years. Nearly 100 percent of his trial experience involves injured people. Glenn is committed to helping people, always going the extra mile for his clients. Throughout his career, he has spared no amount of effort in obtaining full justice for his clients. Glenn handles cases throughout the United States. He has taken over 100 jury trials to verdict.

Jeffrey L. Phillips

Jeffrey Phillips graduated from Arizona State University in 1990 where he earned a Juris Doctorate in Law and started along the road to a successful legal career. Before law school, Mr. Phillips received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1986 from Arizona State University. Additionally, Mr. Phillips has developed a wide background of experience in business, real estate and finance. At our Phoenix, Arizona firm, he focuses on criminal law and DUI defense, as well as providing attorney representation for plaintiff's serious personal injury cases.

Jeffrey Phillips is licensed to practice law in Arizona. As a part of our Phoenix, Arizona firm, he has served as criminal and DUI defense attorney for a number of clients in both felony and misdemeanor cases, and has presented more than 40 criminal and DUI cases to juries. He has represented clients in felony charges throughout Arizona in Maricopa, Pima, Pinal, Gila, Mojave, Navajo and Yavapai Counties.

Jeffrey Phillips has received considerable recognition for his volunteer work. In April 1994, he received the Volunteer Attorney of the Month Award from Community Legal Service. In 1996, he was presented with the William T. Burmingham Award in recognition for the volunteer work he performed throughout the year. James T. Rayburn

James T. Rayburn, a native of Arizona, has over thirty years of experience as an attorney representing financial services clients, including Bank of America and Citigroup. His experience includes legal representation of both large and small institutions engaged in the business of banking and mortgage lending and he is an experienced practitioner in issues relating to consumer and regulatory compliance, lending transactions; litigation; bank operations; and real estate. He is admitted to practice in both Arizona and California, along with federal District Courts in both states.

After graduation with a BA from UCLA and a JD degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, Mr. Rayburn began a career as a financial services attorney in Los Angeles, before returning to Arizona to accept a position as General Counsel of Citicorp's Western Region mortgage lending business. After a few years with Arizona's largest savings and loan, he joined the Bank of America Legal Department, providing legal support for the Bank's retail operations in the western United States.

Mr. Rayburn has an extensive record of community involvement and service to those less fortunate and otherwise unrepresented. Past service includes six years as a member of the Board of Directors of Friendly House, a Phoenix nonprofit agency providing immigration assistance, language education, and social services to the Hispanic community. His pro bono legal service has included participation in the Voluntary Lawyers Program providing legal representation to indigent clients; representation of amnesty applicants in Immigration Court; and participation in the Arizona State Bar Modest Means Program. For more than twenty years he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Community Housing Resources of Arizona, a HUD-approved, non-profit agency serving low income homebuyers with pre-purchase counseling, down payment assistance, and default counseling. He currently serves as a Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Pro Tempore.

An attorney long interested in solving problems for individuals, Mr. Rayburn joined the Phillips and Associates Loan Modification Division in April 2009, with a desire to utilize his expertise in banking and mortgage lending to help homeowners trying to save their homes.

Jose Antonio Saldivar

Jose Antonio Saldivar is an attorney in the criminal division of Phillips & Associates. Mr. Saldivar graduated from Arizona State University with honors and from Arizona State University College of Law with Pro Bono distinction. He is a three-time Valdemar Cordova Scholarship recipient. Mr. Saldivar is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association, Los Abogados, and was Vice-President of Los Licenciados.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Saldivar worked for Community Legal Services and represented migrant farm workers before the Internal Revenue Service and the United States District Court, District of Arizona under the Agricultural Worker Protection Act and Fair Labor Standards Act. Mr. Saldivar also worked for the Yuma County Legal Defender where he limited his practice to criminal defense.

Mr. Saldivar resides in Maricopa, Arizona and Ensenada Baja California, Mexico.

Gautam Sen

Gautam Sen has been a member of the Arizona Bar since 2003. He is also a member of the State Bar of Connecticut, admitted in 2002, and the Washington D.C. Bar, admitted in 2004. Currently, he is a member of the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee of the Arizona Bar as well.

Gautam received his Juris Doctorate at Western New England College School of Law in Massachusetts in 2002. Additionally, he has two Bachelor degrees: Bachelor of Technology in “Instrumentation & Control Systems” from Jadavpur University; and Bachelor of Science with Honors in “Physics” from the University of Calcutta. He received his Masters degree in “Nuclear Engineering” from the University of Cincinnati.

Prior to practicing law, Gautam held the position of Licensing Manager at nuclear utilities. Gautam practiced Administrative Law in Washington D.C. in the area of Energy. In Arizona, Gautam has practiced both civil and criminal litigations and has been In-House Counsel for Progressive Insurance Company. His legal experience includes business transactions, property rights, landlord/tenant issues, insurance claims, DUI/OUI, as well personal injuries/accidents, both in the Justice Court and Superior Court for the State of Arizona. Gautam now practices bankruptcy cases at Phillips & Associates.

Gautam was Adjunct Faculty at Arizona State University and various community colleges in various states, including community colleges in Maricopa County, Arizona. He is currently Adjunct Faculty at Glendale Community College and Faculty at The Paralegal Institute in Glendale, Arizona.

Brandie Sinha

Brandie Sinha is an attorney in the bankruptcy division of Phillips and Associates. Prior to joining Phillips and Associates, Ms. Sinha spent 4 years working in the real estate development industry, where she played an integral part in the development of multiple retail centers throughout the Western United States. Ms. Sinha graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of San Diego in 2002. She received her law degree from Pepperdine University in 2005. Throughout law school, Ms. Sinha worked as a commercial real estate salesperson and was involved with acquisition, leasing and disposition of commercial properties. After law school, Ms. Sinha returned to San Diego to attend the University of San Diego. She received her Masters of Science in Real Estate degree from USD in 2006. Ms. Sinha was admitted to practice law in Arizona in April of 2008. She is also licensed to practice in the United States District Court, District of Arizona

Adam Stafford

An Arizona native, Adam Stafford is a graduate of the Arizona State University, College of Law. Prior to attending law school, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.

After law school, Mr. Stafford worked at the Arizona Corporation Commission for several years before striking out on his own to practice primarily in the areas of criminal defense and personal injury. He now works in the Firm's Loan Modification Division helping people save their homes

Robert R. Teague

Robert R. Teague is the Supervising Attorney of the Firm’s Bankruptcy Department.

Mr. Teague is certified as a Specialist in Bankruptcy Law by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization. He joined the Phillips & Associates Bankruptcy Department in 2000 and since then has personally represented many thousands of bankruptcy clients and has been instrumental in growing the Firm’s Bankruptcy practice to become the largest in Arizona. In 2007, Mr. Teague was honored to receive the “Consumer Finance Attorney of the Year Award” from the Maricopa County Bar Association’s Volunteer Lawyer Program.

Mr. Teague graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with honors, from the University of Arizona in 1992. Mr. Teague then spent three adventurous years teaching English, Geography, and History to the native islanders at Yap High School on Yap Island, Federated States of Micronesia.

Mr. Teague received his law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and he was admitted to practice law in all of the state courts of Arizona, as well as in the United States District Court, District of Arizona in 1998.

Eric R. Thieroff

Eric R. Thieroff is a graduate of the Chapman University School of Law in Orange, California. Attorney Thieroff’s background is in Bankruptcy, Environmental, Land Use and Real Estate Law. Mr. Thieroff has an undergraduate degree in Physical Geography from Arizona State University in Tempe Arizona.

Mr. Thieroff now works primarily in Phoenix as a bankruptcy attorney, but also has previous experience in Trusts and Estates, as well as civil litigation, business and family law.

Mr. Thieroff was also a Captain in the United States Army 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Mr. Thieroff is licensed to practice law in Arizona and is also a Notary.

Gordon Thompson

Gordon Thompson is a trial attorney in the criminal defense division of our Phoenix firm. He has more than twenty years of legal experience and limits his practice to D.U.I. and criminal cases. He is originally from New York, where he graduated from Harper College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Syracuse University College of Law. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1979. From 1979 through 1981 he was an associate to a sole practitioner with a criminal defense and civil trial practice in upstate New York.

In 1982, Mr. Thompson was admitted to the Arizona Bar. From 1982 through 1989 he engaged primarily in the practice of criminal defense law, working successively in La Paz County, the Phoenix Municipal Court, and Maricopa County. He also handled civil and criminal defense matters for individual members of the Colorado River Indian Tribes.

From 1989 through 1993, Mr. Thompson lived in New York City where he was employed as an Associate General Counsel with the New York City Department of Probation. His duties there included supervision of the prosecution of probation violation proceedings in Queens, as well as representing the Department on civil and criminal motions and appeals in various courts located throughout the city.

Upon returning to Arizona in 1994, Mr. Thompson has joined the law firm of Phillips & Associates and since that time has focused his practice on D.U.I. and criminal defense law. Attorney Thompson has presented numerous criminal cases to juries in Arizona over the years.

Timothy Tonkin

Timothy Tonkin fell in love with Arizona when he followed his parents here from New Jersey and attended Northern Arizona University. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from N.A.U. in 1994. After a brief stint working in New York City, he returned to Arizona to attend the Arizona State University College of Law.

Soon after beginning law school, Timothy began working in the area of personal injury and began advocating for the rights of individuals against insurance companies. In his over six years in the legal field, he has concentrated exclusively on helping injured people and has represented numerous clients in all aspects of personal injury claims including trials, arbitrations and mediation.

In his spare time, Tim values his time as a big brother for the Valley Big Brother/Big Sisters and has worked as a Volunteer Attorney. He enjoys traveling, playing golf and spending time with friends and family.

Matthew B. Wenzlau

Matthew B. Wenzlau (JD, MBA) is a member of the Firm's Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Practice Group. Prior to his employment with the Firm, Mr. Wenzlau operated his own private practice. He concentrated his legal practice in entertainment law, including motion pictures, television law, and music law. Matthew is highly respected for providing practical advice that clients can incorporate in their entertainment practices. His skill in advising business clients has made Mr. Wenzlau a valuable asset to the Firm's bankruptcy practice.

Mr. Wenzlau enjoys an excellent reputation with many agencies throughout the country. In his private practice he frequently handled matters involving federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, prosecuting trademark applications, matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and copyright matters.

Mr. Wenzlau serves on numerous committees, legal, and private associations. Mr. Wenzlau is a 1999 graduate of the Regent University School of Law, with a MBA from Arizona State University. He is a member of the Arizona Bar and the Tennessee Bar.

David R. Wroblewski

David R. Wroblewski is a trial attorney and a member of our team of criminal defense attorneys. Mr. Wroblewski attended the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where he earned a B.A. in Economics in 1994 and graduated Magna Cum Laude with Commencement Honors. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and Golden Key National Honor Societies.

Mr. Wroblewski earned his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois in 1998, where he was inducted into the Phi Alpha Delta International Law Fraternity and was an active member of the Latino Law Student Association. While in law school, he worked for and held a litigation internship with two prominent Chicago law firms.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Wroblewski practiced law in Chicago, Illinois with a large plaintiff’s personal injury firm, where he was responsible for the litigation of numerous cases on behalf of individuals injured as a result of another’s negligence. He co-chaired trials before Chicago juries and arbitrated dozens of cases before three-member arbitration panels, earning favorable results.

Thereafter, Mr. Wroblewski maintained his own law practice in the East Valley of Maricopa County, Arizona with an emphasis on personal injury and negligence law. He has years of experience fighting for and obtaining just compensation on behalf of his clients.

Furthermore, Mr. Wroblewski has several years of criminal law experience, having handled hundreds of criminal law matters ranging from serious felony to misdemeanor offenses in federal and state courts. He has earned felony and misdemeanor not guilty jury trial verdicts.

Mr. Wroblewski is licensed to practice law in the States of Arizona and Illinois. He is admitted to practice law before the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Mr. Wroblewski lived, worked, and studied in Mexico City, Mexico and is fluent in Spanish. During one of his numerous stays in Mexico, he held an international trade internship with the Department of Commerce for the State of Wisconsin International Trade Office, Mexico City, Mexico. He also lived and studied in Tres Coracoes, Brazil as an international exchange student.

Mr. Wroblewski has represented individuals under criminal investigation by local and state law enforcement and by the federal government, including the DEA, FBI, IRS, and Secret Service. He currently limits his practice to criminal law and represents individuals facing serious criminal charges.

Michael S. Yucevicius

Michael Yucevicius is a trial attorney in the Firm’s Criminal Division. Mr. Yucevicius is originally from Chicago, Illinois. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in management from Purdue University in 1977 and subsequently worked as an auditor for the accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand, prior to enrolling in law school. Mr. Yucevicius graduated with honors from Chicago Kent College of Law in 1984.

After graduating from law school, Mr. Yucevicius practiced as a criminal defense attorney in the state and federal trial and appellate courts of New York City until relocating to Arizona in 2002. As an attorney in New York, Mr. Yucevicius tried more than seventy-five criminal matters, ranging from misdemeanors to murder cases. Among the trials in which Mr. Yucevicius was involved were several high profile cases. In one such trial, Mr. Yucevicius achieved an acquittal in a murder case in which his client made a videotaped confession to the crime. In addition to numerous accomplishments as a criminal defense attorney in New York, Mr. Yucevicius also successfully represented several clients there in civil lawsuits involving claims of police misconduct and civil rights violations.

Mr. Yucevicius joined the Firm in 2004. His initial primary duties were to represent clients who were under investigation by law enforcement authorities, but not yet charged with crimes. Mr. Yucevicius has helped many clients avoid criminal charges altogether through aggressive representation. He now represents clients in serious felony trial matters in the state and federal courts of Arizona and has continued to achieve good results.

Mr. Yucevicius is a Board Certified Specialist in Criminal Law, certified by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization. He is admitted to the State Bars of Arizona and New York, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Ninth Circuits and the United Stated District Courts for the Districts of Arizona, the Southern District of New York, and the Eastern District of New York.
